I call myself the Canary in the Home for a simple reason - the moment I walk in to any room it seems I can detect toxins or chemicals in the air.
For those of you that don't know, Canaries were once regularly used in coal mining as an early warning system. Toxic gases such as carbon monoxide or methane in the mine would kill the bird before affecting the miners. Signs of distress from the bird indicated to the miners that conditions were unsafe.
I feel like I not only have this capacity, but I now consider it a gift. This blog is my way of sharing what I am learning and I am happy to have you on the journey as I discover how prevalent toxins are being used in our every day life.
And it's not good!
I have spent countless hours researching, learning and adapting to try and control the impact chemicals were having in my life. My health had been seriously affected as a result of a chemical sensitivity that started in the spring of 2013.
I had to find a way to manage this while still running a Kitchen and Bath business and a home building business and having to learn to adapt our business and surroundings to help accommodate me… Just imagine working in a business surrounded by chemicals and dust and trying to adapt for you to survive, as well as your business.
This is a story of some of the things I have learned through this journey, some of the information that no one told me, but I had to learn on my own. I wanted to share this journey with the public because I know from personal experience that it is not an easy journey. l hope I expand your knowledge and understanding of the products that surround us and you learn something that will make your life, your friends, and your families improve their health and longevity..
